How It Works

We’ve broken down our plan into five steps, so here’s what a typical two hour session with us looks like…

  1. A Bit O’ Background

A little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing...but we ain’t scared of anything. Here, we’ll start with a brief bit of coffee history and geography in order to understand the two different types of beans and their flavour profiles so we can prepare them accordingly.

2. The Perfect Shot

At the heart of all your espresso based drinks is, you guessed it, espresso! In this section we’ll go over setting your grind right and tamping for the perfect extraction of your chosen bean. This is usually the science-y bit, but we promise we could explain this to a dog...

3. Hot & Steamy

Now for the most hands-on bit. We’ll all get a go of texturing the two most common types of milk. Preparing your milk is SO much simpler and less scary than once thought. The difference between cappuccino and latte foam may seem subtle to you, but the difference it makes in taste is huge. Once we’ve nailed this practice, we can transfer it across the entire coffee menu with ease.

4. Your Coffee Menu, Confirmed

In this section we will establish a clear understanding of your venue's specific coffee offering together. We need to all be on the same page here because consistency is key and I won’t leave until everyone’s confident with the whole menu.

5. The Clean Machine

Espresso machines are expensive but, like cars, they’ll run a long time if they’re properly cared for. The most important bit is often the most overlooked bit. Here, we’ll go through the daily maintenance, tips and cleaning tasks that not only ensure your coffee tastes better, but guarantee to save you plenty of time and money in the future.

*With each session, you'll receive a free PDF training guide to keep as your forever point of reference. I will also arrive early to perform a basic set-up on the machine to make sure it’s all running smoothly.

*To get the most out of your session, we’d advise a group size no larger than six. However, we can discuss bespoke packages for varying group sizes and different events depending on your needs. Just get in touch.
